Montell Jordan Shares His Journey After Becoming Cancer-Free

American R&B singer Montell Jordan, best known for his 1995 hit “This Is How We Do It”, has announced that he is officially cancer-free after battling prostate cancer for the second time.

Jordan, 57, revealed that he was first diagnosed with stage 1 prostate cancer in early 2024 following a routine PSA test. He underwent a successful radical prostatectomy, but nearly a year later, follow-up scans showed the cancer had returned in his lymph nodes as an aggressive stage 2 case. After further treatment, Jordan has now overcome the disease.

Renewed Commitment

Speaking alongside his wife, Kristin Jordan, the singer emphasized how the experience strengthened their marriage and deepened their commitment to health and faith. He described his recovery as a blessing, saying: “I feel fantastic.”

Public Reaction

Fans and fellow artists have celebrated the news, praising Jordan’s openness about his health journey. His story has also sparked conversations about the importance of regular health screenings, particularly for men over 50.

Legacy Beyond Music

While Jordan remains a celebrated figure in R&B, his resilience and transparency about his battle with cancer have added another dimension to his legacy — inspiring others to prioritize wellness and perseverance.
